At an RDA Open Day
This exercise shows RDA Riders performing a complex exercise, to music, at a recent RDA Open Day.
An interesting story arises - the 'tail-end-charlie', riding like a professional jockey in the trot down the arena - came to RDA as a 5yo, hiding behind mother's skirts - would look at nothing/nobody. By gentle persuasion he started to look-touch-approach & eventually ride Brandy, the pony - and you see him after about six months - a dramatic demonstration of the value of RDA. The end of the story is happy, but also somewhat sad - he didn't appear for the next session after the holidays - on inquiry, we were told that 'he is now doing so many things that he doesn't have time for the RDA' - a dramatic example of the benefits of riding at RDA Coleraine
